What is makeBIMI?
makeBIMI is a free web tool for the logo side of BIMI, the standard that lets mailbox providers show a brand's logo next to authenticated email. It converts a PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP logo, or one fetched from a domain, into the W3C SVG Tiny P/S format that BIMI requires: it strips invalid XML, enforces a square view box and a solid background, and validates the result. It then checks the domain's DMARC policy and generates the BIMI DNS record. A separate audit page checks whether a domain's DMARC policy is at enforcement and whether a BIMI record is published. A public API validates any SVG against the Tiny P/S profile with no API key, and there is an option to generate a logo with AI, which the site says suits Common Mark Certificates rather than trademark-based Verified Mark Certificates. No account is needed. makeBIMI is built by Simon Baertschi and points to his paid veriBIMI service for the certificate that Gmail requires before it shows a logo.
Best for: Teams setting up BIMI who need a compliant SVG logo file and DNS record before they apply for a certificate
