Brand Protection: 8 Tools compared

Brand protection platforms find and remove what criminals build around a company's name: lookalike domains and cloned websites, impersonating social media accounts, fake apps, scam ads and, for consumer brands, counterfeit listings. Most also watch the dark web for leaked credentials. What separates them is what happens after detection: who carries out the takedown, how fast, and how many takedowns the plan includes.

Allure Security

Brand Protection
Best fit for

Organisations that want impersonation takedowns run end to end by the vendor's own analysts

Allure Security detects and removes brand impersonation across websites and domains, social media, mobile app stores and paid advertising, with takedowns carried out by its own 24/7 security operations centre working directly with registrars and hosts. The company says its AI ingests more than 1.5 billion URLs a day to catch fake sites while they are still being set up, and it also offers executive protection, dark web monitoring, fake online store protection and protection against phone scams. Allure Security grew out of DARPA-funded research at Columbia University, was founded in 2009 and is based in Boston. In 2026 it raised a $17 million Series B, bringing its total funding to $43 million.

BrandShield

Brand Protection
Best fit for

Brands that face both counterfeiting and phishing and want one vendor to enforce against both

BrandShield detects and removes phishing sites, social media impersonation, counterfeit and unauthorised marketplace listings, fake apps, fraudulent ads and trademark misuse, and also looks for brand abuse in AI-generated search answers. Its AI.ClusterX technology groups related sellers, domains, listings and profiles so connected incidents can be enforced together, and enforcement is handled by an in-house team that the company says is backed by IP lawyers. BrandShield says it serves more than 500 brands and reports a 98% takedown success rate. The company, BrandShield Systems plc, is listed on London's AIM market.

Security teams that want brand protection inside a broader external exposure and threat intelligence platform

Check Point Exposure Management is the former Cyberint, which Check Point Software acquired in 2024. Its brand protection module finds phishing and impersonation sites, lookalike domains, fake apps and impersonation on social media and job posting sites, sends alerts with screenshots and remediation advice, and starts takedowns from the platform. A proprietary phishing beacon detects copies of a customer's own pages, and the module also covers executive impersonation. Brand protection sits alongside attack surface management, deep and dark web monitoring, threat intelligence and supply chain intelligence. Its published plans pay for takedowns and investigations with credit points.

Doppel

Brand Protection
Best fit for

Organisations that want brand protection, executive protection and employee phishing defence from one vendor

Doppel describes itself as a social engineering defence platform. Its brand protection product finds and takes down impersonation, fraud and counterfeit attacks across domains, social media, ads, the dark web, app stores and messaging, linking related assets into a threat graph so that a whole campaign can be dismantled. Takedown workflows use language models trained on expert data under human oversight, and Doppel states a median takedown time of under 10 hours across domains, social media and paid ads, with phishing URLs mitigated in a median of 12 minutes. It also sells executive protection, phishing simulation, security awareness training and email security. Founded in 2022, Doppel raised a $70 million Series C led by Bessemer Venture Partners in November 2025 at a valuation of more than $600 million.

Memcyco

Brand Protection
Best fit for

Banks, airlines and online retailers whose customers are targeted by cloned sites and account takeover

Memcyco protects a brand's customers while an impersonation attack is live, rather than relying on takedown alone. It detects impersonating domains as they go live, warns visitors in real time when they reach a fraudulent site, identifies the individual customers affected and protects their credentials and card data. It also targets account takeover methods including credential stuffing, man-in-the-middle attacks and remote desktop takeover. Deployment is agentless. Memcyco raised a $37 million Series A in 2026, bringing its total funding to $47 million.

Netcraft

Brand Protection
Best fit for

Organisations that want phishing and impersonation sites removed or blocked as fast as possible

Its brand protection service covers more than 100 threat types across websites, ads, social media, apps and the deep and dark web, combining automated detection with analyst review. Alongside takedown it gets impersonating sites blocked in the major browsers within minutes, which it calls fraudcasting, and it states a median takedown time of 33 minutes for phishing attacks. Netcraft has run its web server survey since 1995 and phishing takedowns since 2006, and has offices in Bath, London, Manchester and Melbourne. In July 2023 it took an investment of about $100 million led by Spectrum Equity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Brand protection software finds and removes the fake websites, lookalike domains, impersonating social media accounts, fraudulent apps, scam ads and counterfeit listings that use a company's name to deceive its customers. Most products combine automated detection with takedown requests to registrars, hosts and platforms, and many also monitor the dark web for leaked credentials.

The terms overlap. Brand protection usually means finding and removing impersonation of a brand: fake sites, accounts, apps, ads and counterfeits. Digital risk protection is the wider category, adding dark web monitoring, attack surface monitoring and threat intelligence. Several vendors here, including ZeroFox, Doppel and Check Point Exposure Management, sell brand protection as one part of a broader platform.

It depends on the registrar, host or platform involved, and published figures come from the vendors themselves. Netcraft states a median of 33 minutes for phishing attacks; Doppel states under 10 hours across domains, social media and paid ads, with phishing URLs mitigated in a median of 12 minutes. Because removal can take time, some vendors also get phishing sites blocked in browsers while a takedown is pending; Netcraft calls this fraudcasting.

Almost always by quote. The differences are in what a plan includes: ZeroFox's entry Foundation bundle includes 250 takedowns a year, Red Points sells tailored plans with unlimited takedowns, and Check Point Exposure Management pays for takedowns and investigations with credit points within its plans.
