Wire Transfer Verification: 6 Tools compared

A wire transfer verification tool confirms that the person sending a wire is who they say they are, and that the payment is genuine. There are not many on the market. At many banks, verifying a wire is still a manual job: staff call the customer back to confirm the details, a step US bank examiners have long listed as a control for payment instructions.

Our read on which firm suits which job. Editorial, not paid, and separate from the listing below.

Verifying the customer in digital banking

IronVest

Binds a biometric check to the amount, recipient and bank the customer approves, across wires, ACH, Zelle, RTP and SWIFT. ActionID verifies the sender, and KYRi, in early access, assesses the recipient. The place to start for banks and fintechs replacing manual call-backs on digital wires.

Cloud

Wire requests taken by phone

Pindrop

Authenticates callers and detects deepfake voices in the contact centre, and runs natively inside NiCE CXone. It verifies the voice on the call. It does not check the payment or the recipient.

Cloud

Scams during online banking sessions

BioCatch

Behavioural biometrics that look for signs of coercion during a session, which matters for authorised push payment fraud where the genuine customer sends the money from their own device. BioCatch Trust also shares risk on receiving accounts between member banks.

Cloud

Corporate supplier payments

Trustpair

Checks that a supplier's bank account belongs to that supplier, in 190 countries, at onboarding, on any change and before payment, inside ERP and treasury systems. It sits with the company sending the payment, not the bank approving the wire.

Cloud

Accounts payable teams paying many suppliers

Eftsure

Verifies payees and bank details before release, with analyst call-backs when automated checks cannot settle a case and a guarantee of up to $1 million on verified payments, subject to its terms. Like Trustpair, it protects the business before the payment reaches the bank.

Cloud

Verification of Payee and Confirmation of Payee

SurePay

Name matching for EU Verification of Payee and UK Confirmation of Payee. It confirms that the name matches the account, so it will not stop a customer who has been talked into paying a scammer's correctly named account.

IronVest

Wire Transfer Verification
Best fit for

Banks and fintechs that want customers to approve wires and other payments in their own app with a biometric check tied to the exact transaction details.

IronVest is a New York company that sells an intent verification layer for banks and fintechs. Its ActionID technology uses the device camera to check the customer's face while capturing the transaction details shown on screen, then cryptographically binds the two before a payment is released. For wires, Zelle, ACH, RTP/FedNow and SWIFT initiation, the customer confirms the amount, recipient and bank on their own device, and the bank receives a yes or no result with a signed record of what was approved. IronVest says this can replace callbacks, OTP step-ups and manual review queues for verified actions. A second product, KYRi, assesses recipient risk before funds move and is offered through an early access programme. ActionID is delivered as an SDK or API for iOS, Android and web, and is listed on AWS Marketplace and Microsoft Marketplace.

Pricing

AWS Marketplace lists a 12-month contract at $120,000.00 for up to 10 thousand ActionID users. Larger deployments are priced per customer by quote.

Pindrop

Wire Transfer Verification
Best fit for

Banks that take or confirm transfer requests by phone and want caller authentication and deepfake voice checks inside their contact centre platform.

Pindrop is an Atlanta company, founded in 2011, that analyses voice, device, behaviour and network signals to authenticate callers and detect fraud in contact centres and video meetings. Its Passport product authenticates known callers passively and is positioned for use before sensitive actions such as money movement. Protect scores call risk in real time at the IVR and the agent, and Pulse detects synthetic and deepfake voices, which Pindrop says takes as little as two seconds. The contact centre products run on supported CCaaS platforms, and since February 2026 they have been available through native integrations across NiCE CXone, where NiCE customers can buy them directly. Pindrop states it is trusted by 14 of the top 20 banks. Its trust centre lists ISO/IEC 27001:2022, SOC 2 Type 2 and PCI DSS v4.0.0.

Pricing

AWS Marketplace lists 12-month contracts for up to 1,000,000 calls: Call Verification $50,000.00, Anti Fraud $250,000.00, Caller Authentication $250,000.00, and Anti Fraud or Caller Authentication with deepfake detection at $300,000.00 each. Pulse for Meetings is $54,000.00 for up to 100 users. Custom terms by private offer.

BioCatch

Wire Transfer Verification
Best fit for

Banks and financial institutions that want to detect scams, account takeover and mule activity in online and mobile banking sessions before a transfer is sent.

BioCatch is a fraud detection platform for banks and other financial institutions. It was founded in 2011, is based in Tel Aviv and has offices in cities including New York, London and São Paulo. As people use digital banking, it collects more than 3,000 anonymised data points, such as keystroke and mouse activity, touch screen behaviour and device signals, and uses machine learning models to tell criminals apart from genuine customers. Its Scams360 product looks for signs of manipulation during a session, such as hesitation, segmented typing or an active phone call, which applies to authorised push payment fraud where the genuine customer makes the transfer. BioCatch Trust lets member banks share risk intelligence on receiving accounts before payment. Permira funds took a majority stake in 2024, and in August 2026 Visa signed an agreement to acquire BioCatch, subject to regulatory approvals.

Trustpair

Wire Transfer Verification
Best fit for

Finance, treasury and accounts payable teams at large companies that want supplier bank details checked inside their ERP, treasury or procurement system before payment.

Trustpair is a payment fraud prevention platform for large companies that checks supplier bank details before money is sent. It was founded in 2017 by Baptiste Collot, Alexandre Gillier and Simon Elcham, is registered in Paris and has offices in New York, Paris and London. The platform verifies that an account belongs to the intended supplier at onboarding, when account details change and before payment is authorised, with bank account validation in 190 countries. It also monitors the vendor database continuously and verifies payment files. It connects to ERP, treasury management and procurement systems through 20+ native connectors, including SAP, Oracle, Kyriba, Coupa and Ivalua, as well as by API and SFTP. Trustpair says it serves more than 600 organisations. In August 2026 Basware signed a binding agreement to acquire Trustpair, with completion expected later in 2026.

Eftsure

Wire Transfer Verification
Best fit for

Finance, accounts payable and treasury teams that pay suppliers by ACH, wire or EFT and want each payee verified before funds are released.

Eftsure is a payment verification platform for finance teams that checks payee and bank details before money leaves the business. It was founded in Sydney in 2014 and has offices in North Sydney, Dallas and Auckland. The platform confirms that a payee is a registered business, checks that the bank account belongs to that payee and screens payees against sanctions lists and government and tax registries. When automated checks cannot resolve a case, Eftsure analysts make out-of-band callbacks. ACH and wire payment files can be reviewed before release, with green and red alerts for matches and mismatches. Eftsure is delivered as a web application, an API or a managed service, and integrates with systems including SAP, Coupa, Workday and Kyriba. It acquired Sis ID in 2025 and announced the acquisition of Relish in September 2026.

SurePay

Wire Transfer Verification
Best fit for

Banks and payment service providers that must offer Verification of Payee or Confirmation of Payee, and corporates checking supplier IBANs before payment.

SurePay provides account name checks that confirm whether the name entered for a payment matches the account held at the payee's bank. It began in 2016 as a start-up within Rabobank and is headquartered in Utrecht, with an office in London. Banks and payment service providers use its Verification of Payee service in the EU and its Confirmation of Payee service in the UK, which return match, close match or no match results inside their payment flows. Corporates can run single or bulk checks through an online portal or integrate an API. Other services include Swift pre-validation, BIC enrichment, a switch check for payees who have moved bank and fraud risk indicators for banks. NatWest uses SurePay for Confirmation of Payee, and Finance Denmark selected it in 2025 for a national Verification of Payee service. In June 2025 Carlyle Europe Technology Partners made a growth investment in SurePay alongside Rabo Investments.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is software that checks a payment before the money moves: that the person approving it is the genuine customer, that they mean to send it, and that the account receiving it is the right one. The tools on this page do different parts of that job. IronVest verifies the customer inside the banking app at the moment they approve the transfer. Pindrop authenticates callers when wire requests come in by phone. BioCatch analyses behaviour during an online banking session. Trustpair and Eftsure check supplier bank details for companies paying invoices, and SurePay matches the payee name to the account.

A call-back confirms a wire at a fixed point, usually after the customer has submitted it. That takes staff time and slows the payment down, and it leaves room for fraud: a fraudster can impersonate the customer on the call, or coach the customer to confirm a transfer they have been tricked into making. Tools that verify the customer at the moment of approval remove the separate call and tie the check to the specific payment.

They can fool people. In January 2024 a finance employee at Arup in Hong Kong sent HK$200 million, about US$25.6 million, in 15 transfers after a video call with deepfakes of the company's chief financial officer and other staff. Checks that rely on a person recognising a face or a voice are exposed to the same attack. Some tools are built for it: IronVest uses multi-frame liveness checks aimed at deepfakes, and Pindrop's Pulse detects synthetic voices on calls, which Pindrop says takes as little as two seconds.

No. Since 9 October 2025, payment providers in euro area countries have had to offer a Verification of Payee check on euro credit transfers, and providers elsewhere in the EU must do so by 9 July 2027. The UK has Confirmation of Payee. These checks confirm that the name matches the account, and the payer can still go ahead after a mismatch. They do not stop a customer who has been persuaded to pay a scammer's account when the name is correct, and they do not verify the person approving the payment.

IronVest is the tool on this list that asks the customer to confirm the specific amount, recipient and bank with a biometric check at the moment they approve the transfer, and it adds a recipient check through KYRi. For banks trying to replace manual call-backs and keep up with deepfake fraud, it is the place to start. Pindrop covers wire requests that still arrive by phone. Payee checks such as SurePay meet Verification of Payee rules, and Trustpair and Eftsure protect companies before their payments reach the bank.
