What is Trent AI?

Trent AI sells what it calls an AI security engineer. It reads a team's code, infrastructure, configuration and agent definitions, including the skills, tools and MCP servers its agents use, and judges which findings an attacker could actually chain together, showing the evidence for each. It takes findings from existing scanners through native connectors for Semgrep, Snyk and Sonar or as SARIF, and can assess a live URL or design documents where there is no code yet. Fixes come back as a plan or are carried out through the team's own coding agents: Trent connects over remote MCP, installs as a plugin in Claude Code and Codex, connects to Cursor and other MCP clients, and runs as a skill in OpenClaw. Trent AI Ltd is based in London and was founded in 2025 by Eno Thereska (former Distinguished Engineer at AWS, Alcion and Confluent), Neil Lawrence (DeepMind Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Cambridge, former Director of ML at Amazon) and Zhenwen Dai (led reinforcement learning at Spotify and Amazon); it launched in April 2026 with a $13 million seed round led by LocalGlobe and Cambridge Innovation Capital.
