Allure Security detects and removes brand impersonation across websites and domains, social media, mobile app stores and paid advertising, with takedowns carried out by its own 24/7 security operations centre working directly with registrars and hosts. The company says its AI ingests more than 1.5 billion URLs a day to catch fake sites while they are still being set up, and it also offers executive protection, dark web monitoring, fake online store protection and protection against phone scams. Allure Security grew out of DARPA-funded research at Columbia University, was founded in 2009 and is based in Boston. In 2026 it raised a $17 million Series B, bringing its total funding to $43 million.

      Netcraft

Netcraft is a UK company that detects and takes down phishing sites, scams and brand impersonation, and says it accounts for a third of the world's phishing takedowns. Its brand protection service covers more than 100 threat types across websites, ads, social media, apps and the deep and dark web, combining automated detection with analyst review. Alongside takedown it gets impersonating sites blocked in the major browsers within minutes, which it calls fraudcasting, and it states a median takedown time of 33 minutes for phishing attacks. Netcraft has run its web server survey since 1995 and phishing takedowns since 2006, and has offices in Bath, London, Manchester and Melbourne. In July 2023 it took an investment of about $100 million led by Spectrum Equity.
